These Terms of Service (ToS) apply to the use of the Pantryverse App in the following variants:
iOS App:
- App Name: "Pantryverse - Smart Grocery Lists & Recipes"
- Bundle ID: com.omnom
- Available on Apple App Store
Web Application:
- URL: https://pantryverse.com
- Accessible via modern web browsers
1.3 Applicable Law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country where the consumer has their habitual residence also apply.
2. Subject Matter and Services
2.1 Core Functions
The Pantryverse App offers the following free main functions:
Recipe Management:
- Creating, editing, and saving recipes
- Categorization and search functions
- Image upload for recipes
- Rating and note system
Grocery Lists:
- Automatic generation from recipes
- Manual creation and editing
- Categorization of grocery items
- Offline synchronization
AI-Powered Functions:
- Automatic recipe categorization
- Intelligent ingredient recognition
- Optimized grocery list creation
2.2 Technical Requirements
iOS App:
- iOS 16.0 or higher
- Internet connection for synchronization
- Optional: Camera for recipe photos
Web Application:
- Modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
- JavaScript enabled
- Internet connection required
2.3 Availability
We strive for 99.5% availability on an annual average. Planned maintenance work, which we announce in advance, is excluded.
3. Contract Formation and Registration
3.1 Registration
Requirements:
- Minimum age 16 years (for minors: consent of legal guardians)
- Valid email address
- Acceptance of these ToS and the privacy policy
Registration Process:
- Enter email address and password
- Confirm email address
- Accept legal documents
- Account activation
3.2 Contract Formation
The usage contract is concluded through successful registration. By registering, you agree to these ToS.
3.3 Account Data
You are obligated to:
- Provide truthful information
- Keep your access data secret
- Inform us of changes
- Report misuse immediately
4. Usage Rights and Obligations

We grant you a simple, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app for its intended purpose.
4.2 Usage Obligations
You commit to:
- Use the app only for private, non-commercial purposes
- Not create or share unlawful content
- Respect the rights of third parties
- Not use malicious software
- Not perform automated access
4.3 Particularly Prohibited:
- Reverse engineering of the app
- Circumventing security measures
- Overloading servers
- Sharing access data
- Commercial use without permission
4.4 Content and Intellectual Property
Your Content:
- You retain all rights to your recipes and content
- You grant us the right to process them for the service
- You warrant that you possess the necessary rights
Our Content:
- App, design, and technology remain our property
- Trademarks and logos are protected
- Use only within the scope of the service permitted
5. AI Functions and Data Processing
5.1 AI-Powered Services
Functionality:
- Anonymized processing of recipe data by OpenAI and Anthropic
- Automatic categorization and optimization
- No processing of personal identifiers
Transparency:
- AI decisions are traceable
- Manual correction possible at any time
- Opt-out option available
5.2 Quality and Liability
- AI results are recommendations, not guarantees
- Manual review recommended
- No liability for AI-generated content
- Continuous improvement of algorithms
6. Availability and Technical Support
6.1 Service Level
Availability Target: 99.5% annual average
Planned Maintenance: Announced 48 hours in advance
Emergency Maintenance: Immediate notification

6.3 System Requirements
We reserve the right to adjust minimum requirements. Older versions are supported for at least 12 months after announcement.
7. Liability and Warranty
7.1 Warranty for Consumers
For consumers, the statutory warranty rights under §§ 434 ff. BGB apply without restriction.
7.2 Liability
Unlimited Liability for:
- Intent and gross negligence
- Damages from injury to life, body, or health
- Guarantees
- Claims under product liability law
Limited Liability:
- For slight negligence only for breach of essential contractual obligations
- Amount limited to foreseeable, contract-typical damages
- Maximum €1,000 per damage event
Excluded Liability:
- Indirect damages
- Lost profits
- Data loss (where preventable by backup)
7.3 Indemnification
You indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use.
8. Term and Termination
8.1 Contract Term
The contract runs for an indefinite period and can be terminated at any time.
8.2 Ordinary Termination
Your Termination:
- At any time without notice period
- Via account settings or email
- Immediate effect
Our Termination:
- With 30 days' notice via email
- Possible without giving reasons
8.3 Extraordinary Termination
We may terminate without notice for important cause, particularly in case of:
- Violation of these ToS
- Unlawful behavior
- Service abuse
- Payment default (for paid features)
8.4 Consequences of Termination
- Access is suspended
- Data is deleted after retention periods
- Return of content upon request (30 days)
9. Data Protection
9.1 Data Processing
Processing of personal data occurs according to our privacy policy and applicable data protection laws (GDPR, BDSG, TDDDG).
9.2 Your Rights
You have comprehensive rights regarding your data:

10. Changes to ToS

Minor Changes:

- Immediate effectiveness
10.2 Consent
Continued use after expiry of the objection period constitutes acceptance of changes.

As this is a free service, there is no right of withdrawal in the sense of distance selling law.

13. Final Provisions
13.1 Jurisdiction
For Businesses: Exclusive jurisdiction is our business location
For Consumers: Choice between our business location or your residence
13.2 Applicable Law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
13.3 Severability Clause
Should individual provisions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
13.4 Languages
These ToS are written in German. Translations serve only for information; in case of doubt, the German version is authoritative.
